Pawns can attack 2 squares diagonally forward.
Knight: 8 in all directions.
King: 8 in all directions
Bishop: 7 in one diagonal, 6 in the other.
Rook can attack: 7 vertically and 7 laterally.
Queen = range of rook + bishop.
Each piece needs to be at the center of the board for maximum threat.
