2) A theft is an example of a criminal act sometimes called a caper. A caper is also a flavourful flower bud used in cooking.
3) The Latin word for work is opus, and the plural of opus is opera.
4) A dog's ears might stick up, or perk up, at the smell of coffee perking (percolating).
5) "Wipeout!" is a great surfing song, and to wipe out something is to erase it.
Did you notice that the letters on the diagonal from lower left to upper right are all E's? Euler's number (e) is a transcendental number, so you could say that the word square has a transcendental slant!
