Language brain teasers are those that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words and letters.Language
For each of the following, the answer words are a pair of anagrams which have the same spelling except for two letters that are switched with each other. For each, use the clue sentence to figure out the pair of words. Each sentence contains two clues, one clue for each of the anagrammatic words.
Example: He took the forefront in negotiating a settlement.
Answer: lead/deal (forefront=lead, settlement=deal)
In this example, the "l" and "d" are transposed between the two anagrams.
If you need some help, the hint gives you the number of letters for each anagrammatic word pair.
1) The young lad enjoyed flying his airborne contraption.
2) She discovered a digital record describing the possibility of sentience on another planet.
3) The customer came forward to the counter to find the beautiful topping on his cappuccino.
4) By eating foods with many greasy substances, they gained weight quickly.
5) The grin disappeared from his face when he noticed the viscous liquid matter oozing down the kitchen wall.
6) The wooden posts marked the spots on the frozen pond where the ice was too thin to travel on bladed footwear.
7) The weak child had more of a knack for games of strategy than for sports.
