Five barges, The Marianna, The Elizabeth, The English Rose, The Blackbird, and The Mermaid, were on a canal. Each was pulled by a different horse, Rosie, Star, Buck, Prince, and Itchy, and carried a different cargo, coal, gravel, iron, sand, and slate. Each barge was owned by either Bob, Bill, Fred, George or Ted.
Figure out whose horse pulled which barge and what its cargo was.
1. Bill's barge, which carried sand, was not named after a woman. His horse was not Star.
2. Buck, who did not belong to Bob, pulled The Elizabeth.
3. Fred owned The Mermaid.
4. Ted's horse was Rosie but his barge was not The English Rose (which carried coal).
5. George's barge did not carry slate.
6. Itchy pulled the barge carrying Iron.
