"Voting" in a Poll, is not a game, so therefore, this topic will remain locked.

Out of curiosity how does the boss send a memo in Who's the Boss?

Hey asha if you are playing WTB at the moment and you are the boss, you will see a box kinda thing and it will say what the psych question is and the memo, so when you are the boss you will be able to figure it out I am sure of it.

Check out my wiki.

I want to know why Braingle continues to allow some people ie: kitty19 to continue to create games to MOD when that person repeatly abandons their games and then they stay in sign ups for months at a time?

Like what you love, and love what you got.

First of all, it is unfortunate that some games are not handled appropriately by the moderator. It is frustrating to sign up for a game, then realize the moderator of that game is not around. As for Boss games, you need a moderator to start each round, otherwise, the game ends with the moderator "abandoning" the game. In Werewolf, the moderator can, if they choose, place themselves in the background of the game. They are not needed to start each round, therefore, Werewolf games can pretty much play out without a present and active moderator. Sure, it is nice to have an active moderator, but if Werewolf is played the traditional way, without Prompts, Psych questions, etc. then they can actually be an invisible moderator. These games are not as popular, but they can exist and play out just fine.

The moderators of braingle do not have any power to implement change in Boss and Werewolf games. If anyone would be "banned" from moderating one of these games, it would have to be done by the owner of braingle. So I would ask Jake if he felt it necessary and appropriate to take such action, or an action that would cause a member to earn "bad karma" for not being an active moderator. As long as Werewolf can be played without the help of the moderator, then any change would only effect Boss games.

Also, you have to remember, when a person signs up for a game, they have the option of leaving that said game, as long as it hasn't started yet. And they have the option of not joining any other game moderated by the person/s in question. If a person stays in a game that is taking a very long time to fill . . . . and the moderator isn't around, this is their choice. It's important to keep an eye on games you have signed up for. If a person wishes to sit in a game that is taking forever to fill, this is their choice.

I was insinuating for BOSS games as WWG without a mod can be done without issue.

It is not the people who sign up, as yes...that is their issue........It is continuing to see the same person start a game and knowing they have no intention on ever following through with it. I understand we all have lives outside of braingle and real life causes the occasional abandonment of a WTB game. But to create a game with 4 day rounds and know you will never check back in to see if anyone is even signing up for the game is not a thing that should be taken lightly. This particular person I am asking about has been doing this for a LONG time. These games then stay on the "Game Sign-Up" list for sometimes months at a time. The current one has been in sign up since the beginning of November. This is B/C people know that the mod will abandon the game. If one looks the history of this members games you would see that several "regulars" will sign up for the game just to get it off the board.

So how does one send a message to JAKE?

I ask this question as it has come up several times in discussion among different players. All wanting to know why Braingle does not do something about this situation.

EDIT: BTW...Thanks Snow

I don't think Jake would change the configurations of the Boss game so it can be played with an inactive moderator. IDK , maybe he would, but that would take some time. Something to ask him I suppose. Other than that, you could ask him about your concerns about users starting Boss games and repeatedly abandoning them. Best place to ask Jake questions would probably be in the Bug Reports & Feature Requests topic in GD. Direct your question to Jake personally. I think he addresses these questions on a somewhat regular basis. Good luck with finding satisfaction with this issue. For me, I ignore the games you are talking about. Sure, it's irritating to know how they are being handled, but members need to learn to leave a game if it isn't filling up within a reasonable time.

I was reading over the rules posted here and realized that much of what is posted is obsolete. The entire section about WTB and TWG needs to be changed. Just an FYI.

Is there a reason the rock paper scissors game is still stickied when there has not been an active game since 2010?

Can you block the user lhmisen from creating WTB games? They create twenty player games with seven day rounds andt hen go inactive, leaving them there.
