I also hope everyone had a nice Christmas or Hanukkah as it may be. As the New Year approaches, hope everyone can enjoy 2020 as much as possible.

I am starting this new year with one less brother. I am fine with his passing, happened one week ago. He was not suffering, but he has been Diabetic One for most of his life, and about 2 years ago showed signs of Alzheimer's. It was confirmed and he just recently went from stage 3 to stage 4. He was starting to not recognize anyone but his wife. Complications from this disease took his life... the family has its sorrows; but we are glad he did not live long not knowing who or where he was.

Cancer and Alzheimer's... sure wish they could find cures and forget the politics in solving how.

So sorry for your loss Randy!
It is better to have lost him remembering who he was rather that who he became.
Still not easy. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Sorry for your loss, Randy and to everyone here who has faced such losses and changes in their lives. It's been a difficult year for some of us but we have made it out the other side. I know my year is ending on a good note - finally getting over a nasty bout of E coli from bad Romaine - but still smiling!

I want to wish everyone a joyous, safe, healthy and Happy New Year!

Yes, down under we've had terrible fires...destroying many homes, many lives... such devastation from soul destrying Hell fires...yesterday, a whole town of people had to seek shelter in the sea from the fires burning at the shores of their properties. I hope this link works....although we are on the other side of the continent, we've had bushfires too - destroying over 30,000 hectares of bush down south...

Oh, Snappy, that is horrible. My heart goes out to all those poor people that had to escape into the sea. That had to have been almost unbearable to go through.

I'm also sorry to hear about your brother, Randy. I know what both cancer and
Alzheimer's can do. My Mother suffered her last 4 years with Alzheimer's, and my husband his last 5 years with cancer. The day both those diseases are eradicated can;t come soon enough.

Anyhow, Happy new year to everyone. Let's hope for a better 2020 for all.

This site doesn't allow "Likes" or "Love"... but you would have a whole lot of "Love" for your comment Bobbi! I wish the bickering in our National arena would end long enough to justify the expenses to eradicate these diseases. It can be done with mutual agreement... but our party system loves contradicting each other... such idiots in our government. Sorry, normally do not discuss politics, not promoting it now either.

It is horrific what is going on down here....although I'm 3500kms west of these fires!

There is also a 400km fire raging on the Nullabor plain...road is east to west
...all traffic has been stopped. Trucks with food etc...so in Perth we're running out of food...I mean we grow our own but we're running out of manufactured stuff....

The world cannot sustain so many people.

The devastation of the fires continues

Hi guys!

about the b̶r̶u̶s̶h̶ f̶o̶r̶e̶s̶t̶ fires.... I don't live in Australia, but we (USA people) had some massive (probably still do, idk) fires in California. They were terrible. Thankfully, I don't live near there. But one of my Grandmothers did, so she had to evacuate.

I think I would have liked one too, but in thinking about my past 60+ years... probably not. If you have one and only 5 people show up, you could be pretty upset afterwards about how many showed up. Friends are friends 365 1/4 days a year (I included the leap year fraction). Someone should never be surprised by their friends wishing them a happy birthday, only by the friends who don't. Tells you to make sure you remember your friends birthdays!

Seems the world has gone to hell in a basket!
Here we've had MASSIVE bushfires where whole families have lost EVERYTHING they own except the clothes on their backs, then there's Covid 19... shut downs etc..
I feel sorry for the man in Minnesota who was killed by the cop! Holy mackerel! What is going on!!!!

It is unbelievable here in Minneapolis MN. Fires, riots, looting. There doesn't seem to be any end in sight.
I understand the anger, but violence will not solve this issue.
They are burning the city to the ground.
It does not make any sense and I'm so pissed!

Jaycr, I've been watching the news and thought about you. The whole situation is unbelievable and very sad and as you said, it doesn't appear that it's going to end any time soon. Stay safe!
