Wow, how have you been 4wheels? I think about you often... you were someone I considered a friend as we played so many games together. I have had some issues lately in my personal life and have not done a good job as a moderator to see what is going on, on this site. I am happy to see you back... even though I will have to remember a different name. A mind is a terrible thing to lose as you get older!

Sitting on a book shelf doesn't make you a book, any more than going to Church makes you a Christian.

Good, they are selling Girl Scout Cookies right now. I thought of you and bought 3 boxes. 1 1/2 box left and every cookie yum. If you hurry there maybe some left when you get here.

Descriptions of flavors

Thanks A Lot - Shortbread cookie with fudge bottom

Smore - Graham cookie with crème icing and chocolate coating

Lemonade - Savory slice of shortbread with a lemon flavored icing on the bottom.

Shortbread - Classic shortbread cookie

Thin Mint- chocolate cookie with minty chocolate coating

Peanut Butter patties - vanilla cookie with layer of peanut butter and chocolate coated

Caramel deLite - vanilla cookie with layer of caramel, sprinkled coconut, and chocolate stripes

Peanut Butter Sandwiches - Peanut butter and oatmeal cookie with peanut butter filling

I like Samoas... which you stated at Caramel deLites. You are not wrong, but the name of the cookie is really Samolas. I do not really have a sweet tooth anymore... it sort of helps my waist line now... but I did buy two boxes this year. Family member with two girl scouts were selling them, so I bought one from each. Yep, gone. Sweet tooth sometimes shines its nasty head and asks for more. Caramel and Butterscotch are probably my weak link to sweet things... add in some Vanilla Ice Cream, a feast for me at night! But only once a week. By the way, their peanut butter cookies have too MUCH pb for my taste buds. Lost my mom in 98', wow, she had some that had the taste, but not too much... sort of combination of their shortbread cookie and a peanut butter patty. My wife tried to reproduce it, though good, not like mom's. My wife did do a great job for many other dishes my mom made, just not this one. She at least nailed the chocolate chip cookies my mom made...something the girl scouts do not try to put out. They should, even if Mrs. Fields has them beaten already!

Why is Mom's and Grandmas always better?
Randy I asked my Grand Mother this when I tried to duplicate her recipe, yes it was good. Hers was always better. So when I asked her this question, my Grand Mother said "Grandmas always make it with LOVE, so it is better).

Your grand mother is right! I think my grand mother had a secret item in the recipe that just was yummy. It was passed to my mom and though my wife was trying to cook some things like my mom and some things like her mom (as well as her own ideas) they were just too much in the peanut butter arena. I wonder if my mom used a little rum? I'll never know, I don't eat peanut butter cookies anymore... btw, my sister can make many things my mom made but again, not the cookies.
