Card Games
Spoons

Setup
Use two standard 52-card decks, shuffled together. Place a pile of spoons in the center, with one fewer spoon than the number of players. Deal out five cards to each player. If playing with 5-6 players deal out six. If playing with 3-4 players deal out seven. The rest of the deck is placed face down on the table. Turn over the top card and place it face up to create a discard pile. The dealer also selects a phrase, such as "Doh!" or "Pickles!" that will be used throughout the game. This is called the Razzing Phrase.
Play
Going clockwise from the dealer, each player takes a turn. During your turn you may draw a card, or play a card. To play a card, it must match the top card of the discard pile in either suit or rank. You must call out the rank of the card that you are playing and place it face up onto the discard pile. Even if you can play a card, you are not required to do so, you may draw instead. If you draw a card that can be immediately played, you may do so.
The objective of the game is to get rid of all of your cards. Once you get down to one card, you must announce that you have one card left.
Powers
When certain cards are played into the discard pile, certain powers are invoked as follows.
- King - After playing a King, you get the power to make someone else draw two cards by calling out their name. They must then say the Razzing Phrase and draw the cards. Alternatively, if they also have a king, they can play the king and bounce it back to you by calling your name. This increases the number of cards that you have to draw by one. It can bounce back and forth as many times as there are kings to play, increasing the draw amount each time.
- Queen - The player should name their card and then say "Reverse". This reverses the direction of play.
- Jack - Everyone must yell "Spoons" and grab a single spoon. Whoever ends up without a spoon must say the Razzing Phrase and draw two cards. If someone grabs two spoons or if two people fight over a spoon, they draw instead.
- Ten - The player should name their card and then say "Repeat". It is their turn again.
- Eight - The suit of the eight is wild. The player should name their card and then call out a new suit, such as "Hearts". The discard pile is now "Hearts", regardless of the actual suit of the eight.
- Two - When a two is played, it beings a new phase of play. At this point only twos and aces can be played and each one increases the count by adding 1 or 2 to the previous count. Each player must call out the current count when playing their card. The first player who is unable to play an ace or a two must say the Razzing Phrase and then draw as many cards as the current count. Play then resumes normally.
Razzing
If any player makes an error, they can be razzed. To razz another player you must point at them and make a buzzing sound. The razzed player must then draw a card and speak the Razzing Phrase. Here are some of the rule violations that can initiate a razz.
- Razzing someone who has not made an error.
- Razzing someone whose error was more than 2 turns in the past.
- Not saying, or saying the wrong Razzing Phrase when required.
- Not announcing the name of the card being played.
- Not following the special powers for certain cards.
- Playing out of turn.
- Playing a card that doesn't match the top card of the discard pile in either suit or rank.
- Not announcing when they have one card left.
- Concealing the number of cards that they have left.
Scoring
When one player has run out of cards, the round is over. The remaining players score points according to which cards they have left in their hand. Tens and eights are worth 6 points. Face cards are worth 4 points. Twos are worth 2 points. Everything else is worth 1 point.
The dealer moves to the left and a new round begins. At some agreed upon ending scenario (For example: 10 rounds, or 100 points), the winner is the person with the fewest points.
