Usenet Newsgroups
Usenet Newsgroups are a huge global bulletin board system. They encompass government agencies, universities, high schools, businesses of all sizes, and home computers of all descriptions. They contain thousands of topics on just about anything. Some newsgroups are moderated and some are not.
There are two brain teaser related newsgroups, rec.puzzles and alt.brain.teasers. Both of these newsgroups are unmoderated, so Braingle has no control over the content. If you are easily offended by coarse language or spam, we recommend that you stick to the moderated Braingle Forums.
Rec.Puzzles
The rec.puzzles newsgroup is generally friendly, and the signal-to-noise ratio is quite high compared with many other Usenet newsgroups. However, many rec.puzzles readers have a major pet peeve - seeing the same puzzles (and the same answers, and the same discussions) over and over again. Also, off topic chatter in this forum is considered to be very rude. Before posting a message in the newsgroup, please read the FAQ.

Alt.Brain.Teasers
The alt.brain.teasers newsgroup has a good-humored structure, which can be characterised by its informal discussions and replies, often on a first-name basis. There are no strict rules. However, there are some unwritten rules which are just a matter of common courtesy between the visitors to the newsgroup. Please read the FAQ before posting a message to this newsgroup.
